Cookie Policy
We do not place any non-essential cookie on your device before you tell us we can. You can accept all, reject all or choose by category, and refusing is exactly as easy as accepting.
This policy is written to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and to the UK GDPR, following the guidance of the Information Commissioner's Office. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on the device you are reading on. It lets the site recognise that device again, remember something about your visit, and give you a continuous and secure experience, for example by keeping your basket as you move from page to page.
We use the word cookie in its wide sense here. It also covers similar technologies that do the same job without being a classic file: your browser's own local storage and session storage, invisible pixels, and identifiers held on your device. A first party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third party cookie is set by someone else through that site. A session cookie disappears when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.
Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Needed to make the site work: your session, your basket, security and load balancing. These do not require consent because the site cannot function without them.
Analytics
Help us understand which pages are used and where people get stuck. Only set if you consent. Refusing them does not change how the site works for you.
Marketing
Used to measure advertising and show you relevant ads. Only set if you consent.
This is what this site actually sets today, checked on the live storefront: We also keep three small entries in your browser's own storage, not as cookies: one records that you have already seen the discount panel so it stops reappearing, and two are used by Shopify to carry your basket between pages. None of them leaves your browser. No analytics cookie and no advertising cookie is set on this storefront. The only outside address the pages load from is Shopify's own content network. Shopify sets further cookies of its own once you enter checkout, and those are covered by Shopify's cookie notice shown at that point. If we later add analytics or advertising, this table is updated and a consent banner is shown before any such cookie is set.

Third party cookies
Some cookies can be set through this site by someone other than us, in particular by the technical providers that host the store and run the checkout. Those third parties set and read their own cookies under their own policies. Any third party cookie that needs consent is only set once you have given it. We keep third party cookies to what is genuinely needed, and prefer providers that respect your privacy.
Your consent, and how long it lasts
Apart from the strictly necessary cookies, nothing is placed on your device until you have said yes. Your consent is freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. Until you choose, and if you refuse, only the strictly necessary cookies are used.
We keep a record of the choice you make for six months at most, so that we do not ask you again on every page. Cookies that depend on your consent last no longer than thirteen months, and what they collect is not kept beyond twenty five months. After that we ask you again.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, with the same number of clicks it took to give it. Withdrawing does not make what was placed before the withdrawal unlawful.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also accept, refuse or delete cookies from your browser's own settings, whatever you have told us:
- Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third party cookies and site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and security, under Cookies and site data.
- Apple Safari: Settings or Preferences, then the Privacy tab.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking every cookie, including the strictly necessary ones, can stop the store working and stop you placing an order. Refusing analytics, functional or marketing cookies does not: you can browse and buy without them.
