Accessibility Statement

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, keyboard navigation or magnification.

What we aim for

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. That means readable contrast, visible focus states, meaningful alt text on product imagery, forms that can be completed by keyboard, and no content that relies on colour alone.

Known limitations

These are the limitations we know about today, from our own testing of this theme:

  • The workshop video on the pillow page plays on its own, loops, and has no visible pause control. It carries no sound.
  • Some controls are shown as an icon alone, such as the gallery thumbnails, so their purpose is not always announced clearly.
  • A number of images on the home page are marked as decorative and carry no description. A few of them do carry meaning.
  • Two pieces of text fall below the 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio: the struck through previous prices, and the rating stars.
  • Text baked into some product images is not repeated in the page text, so it is not available to a screen reader.

We are working through this list. It is written from a real check of the pages, not from a template.
